Who knows what?

So, here we are again, the setting:

Imagine Mommy and Daughter driving to gymnastics class after a long day at work (and apparently at school) where she did not receive a happy face and we were just doing our normal everyday chatter...I should probably note that this was on a Monday and she had already lost all of her tv privileges for the entire week!

4 yr old: Mommy, I know everything already.

Me: Everything? You know everything?

4 yr old: Yes, you don't have to tell me things anymore because I know EVERYTHING!

Me: Ok
(Not even a half second after I say Ok...)

4 yr old: Mommy, how long until we get to gymnastics?

Me: Well, if you know everything, you would already know the answer
wouldn't you?

(oh yes, I'll be paying for my smart mouth when she's older)

I think I was a few minutes late for M3's Fashion Friday...I'll see when I hit publish, so I may have to rename it to Fashion early Saturday morning.

Miss Maddie selected striped stockings to go with her floral dress and brown shoes. She was very proud of her choice of clothes - it really is wonderful watching her get so excited about picking out something to wear!

Playtime!

We met up with the Alan, Rae, Lee and Lance at the Park this weekend for some playtime and adult hang out time. Alan rode his bike to the park while we just put Maddie's bike in the back of our car =) The kids had a great time playing & running around as well as riding their bikes back and forth while the adults got a chance to chat and catch up.

Maddie, Lance and Lee take over the sandbox digging and building and digging some more.

All three of them are expert climbers as well, as you can see... Either I'm getting more laid back, or they have made this climbing rope thing closer to the ground. For some reason, it did not seem as high as it has in the past, perhaps Maddie is just getting taller even though we've discussed her being my little girl forever and ever *chuckle*

A gentleman caller...

came knocking at the door the other evening around 7:30pm. It was for Maddie! The older gentleman (he's 5!) rang the doorbell and politely inquired about the opportunity to spend some quality time with her riding his bike. Daddy carefully eyed him up and down and pondered his intentions before turning him away as it was dinner time. Me thinks Daddy is already starting to worry and prepare his responses for when she hits the dating years!

Here is our Fashion Friday photo as well...Maddie nicely paired a white t-shirt with this lovely summer frock and white sandals. The blue poodle barrette on one side and blue bow on the other just made the look complete.

Our First Fashion Friday

We were having dinner the other night when our 4 yr old announced that she is no longer Madeline. She has a new name that she picked all by herself. Now, I'm waiting for something like Princess Aurora Madeline something or other, but no, she said, "My name is Squeaky". Squeaky? Ok...Squeaky it is. She later gave herself a new last name too... "Coo Coo" So, let me introduce to you all on our first Fashion Friday that fellow Mommy blogger M3 started...

Miss Squeaky Coo Coo

Miss Coo Coo, our little fashionista has paired her bathing suit with a pair of purple sweatpants (note the careful placement of the skirt from her bathing suit over top of the sweatpants) and pink flipflops with hearts on them ("because she loves hearts soo soo much"). She tops off this ensemble with Mommy's winter hat which she calls her "holly jolly" hat.

The answer to the next question is yes, we went out in public *smile* This is a picture I took from my cell phone when we got out of the car in the parking lot...I just couldn't resist.

I'm not cool...

I'm certain that this comes as a HUGE shock to most of you. Really, stop laughing! *grin* But apparently it is official, I am not cool.

At breakfast this morning, Maddie announced that Daddy is the way way super coolest, and she is super coolest too. She then turned to me with her outstretched finger pointing in an accusatory fashion. "You're not," she said, "You're just silly." She then sat back into her chair and did the Evil Overlord laugh - "Mu ha ha ha" which inspired Daddy to chuckle, place the tips of his fingers together channeling Mr. Burns from the Simpsons and said "Excellent".

Here is our little chef... She picked out her own outfit which included her digging into her old size 2T clothes box and putting them on. You know what though? Besides being a little short, they still fit great!
