Spring!

I can hear the birds chirping through the open window, mixed in with Maddie "reading" one of her favorite books outloud to herself.... "Who put me in the sugar pops, the sugar pops, the sugar pops" The book is actually Who put the Frog in the Kitchen Sink. She loves to read and be read to, I consider that a very good thing. More recently she's been "reading" to herself, I find it amazing how much she remembers, almost word for word and can tell what needs to be read on a page based on the pictures she sees on it!

Spring is definitely here. Yesterday we hit 80 (well my car did anyway!) The sun was shining in the blue sky, we donned our spring clothes with NO JACKETS and headed to the park - well Maddie and I did, Daddy stayed home to do some much needed work to the yard. (I think I got the better deal here)

Here we have Madeline sitting nice with her hands folded, but apparently didn't want to be recognized - so she donned her sunglasses.

Lately, little Miss Maddie has become the Queen of "Why", or if she heard me say that, she'd say, No! I'm the "Princess of Why" It doesn't matter what she is a Princess of, but she will tell you that she most certainly is a Princess - just ask her!

Playgrounds, Beach grass and OC

There is a new playground that opened up recently near our house. Maddie enjoys going and playing on all of the equipment they have there. This spider web climbing thing she never could get past the first level until this last time. Once she found a way to reach one rope, she moved and climbed all the way to the top. You can see how high she got, as Ron is standing on the other side in the red t-shirt (and remember, he's 6'6"). I'm torn in being proud that she worked and figured it out, and being scared that she's up that high!!!

But being up high doesn't phase her one little bit. And if the opportunity to hang upside down while up high presents itself, she's all about that as well!

Here is our budding environmentalist, helping out with beach grass planting this past weekend. She didn't DO much planting, but she enjoyed "helping". (Please note the ocean waves that some how got her jeans wet when she and Daddy walked down to the water to take a look).

All dressed up and ready to go out to dinner with Miss Betsy and her family in Ocean City. I love this shirt, and wouldn't you know, it has a hole in it from getting caught on her car seat!

Am I the only one that always thinks she has to take pictures of her kid in all her different outfits because she's "so cute" and I always want to remember what she looks like in it? Yes, I'm pathetic I know...if there is some photo taking support group let me know.
