Old Tyme Peach Festival

Yesterday we went to Middletown's Old Tyme Peach Festival. A hugely popular event, I think they said 25,000 people went to it last year. They have street vendors down main street, lots of kiddie stuff to do including a parade, moon bounces, rock walls to climb, hay ride, clown shows, actually lots of different shows, ice skating and best of all, its all free!

We got a later than planned start, well, because, I just didn't want to get moving. I'll take full blame on this one. The temperature looked promising and blue sky - what I didn't realize was that the humidity rolled in & it ended up being a hot & humid day (again, I've mentioned that I'm more of a fall/winter type person).

We got there later than I had wished so all of the prime spots for the parade were taken. Maddie got the prime seat on Daddy's shoulders and we watched a good portion of the parade before we ventured off to all of the other activities.

Mommy's view of the parade...lots of the backs of people's heads *grin*

Maddie's happy little perch up high. When I took a turn putting her on my shoulders she was no taller than Daddy *chuckle*

Here is Maddie learning how to ice skate. She loved doing it - she did stay up on her feet quite a bit and stomped about, happy as a clam.

We were there for about 5 hours wandering around - All in all we had a good, if hot and sticky, day.

I think you know of every good festival in DE! I need you to send me a list. LOL. We usually go up to Linvilla on the big craft show day in the fall but I had no idea they have a blueberry festival and who know that Middletown had a Peach festival. Where do you find out about all these events?
