Spring has sprung...right into summer!

Maddie has her "shades" and is ready to rock in roll in her rainbow shirt, that coincidentally matches the rainbow construction paper we just purchased at Costco!

Maddie loves to swing, with a catch....she loves to swing while holding Daddy's hand, it makes her feel safe. Awwwww!!! (Shhh, Daddy loves it too!)

Maddie is pondering the mysteries of the Delaware River...

This past weekend was amazing, bright sun, brilliant blue sky and highs in the 80s with no humidity. I guess this is what it's always like out in CA! Or that is what we hear over on the East Coast anyway... Of course, we also just had a Nor'easter hit the week before, crazy weather!

We had a good weekend, although I was tempted, strongly tempted, to make a run for the shore, Ron was much more adult that I, and we opted to stay at home and work on finishing cutting down that darn tree in the front yard. It has also re-enforced my already strong belief that the best way to take down a tree is to call someone and pay THEM to do it. This belief may have crept into Ron's subconsious as well this time!

While we worked on the tree, Maddie happily busied herself with her slide, fort and by "helping" pile the sticks for bundling. It wasn't all work, we did take a side trip to Battery Park again for some fun kid time for Maddie, who made a new friend, Monet, and ran amuck on the jungle gym sets. We took a little stroll along the water where Mommy and Daddy learned the joys of running up and then back down a hill, over, and over, and over.....and over.

The Mid-Atlantic Tour...

Oh yes, it is the holidays again and you know what THAT means....the Mid-Atlantic Tour is BACK! We start out in Delaware on Friday and enjoy a trip to see Sesame Stree Live, which Maddie really enjoyed (although she kept wanting to hug Bert...it used to be Elmo everything, but now, all she wants is Bert...I think it's because of his pigeon song, it puts her hear aflutter...). Next is Maryland visiting with Nana and then rounding off the tour in New Jersey with continued family fun...

I'll post more about the weekend and get some pictures up soon!

Easter Egg Farm Fun!!

I am quite behind in my blogging...forgive me! I still have tons of pictures I need to download from our cameras, but I'll at least get the text up! (oh yes, I hear the groans from the audience! [aka Nana, Mom mom and Pop pop] TEXT?!?! No pictures?!?!?! Forget THIS blog, I'll come back later!)

Last weekend, we had a little family outing for Maddie...we went to a program that the Nature Society holds for kids at Coverdale Farm. If you read the title of this post, you'll know that it was a program called "Easter Egg Farm". Their programs are good (yes this is being biased as I once worked there when we first moved to the state until I got my present job) because they limit the number of people, so everyone has a good experience, very personalized. It was a chilly day, but thankfully it wasn't raining. Apparently the cool weather kept half of the already small group away so there were 8 people, including parents enjoying this outing on the farm. The instructor took us through the farm, and showed the kids (ages ranging from 2 yrs old to 7 yrs old) the sheep and baby lambs, the mother pig and her 15 piglets!!!, and of course, the chickens, which layed colored eggs! Pink ones! Green ones! Brown ones! White ones! And then got to "hold" and "touch" the baby chicks that were just hatched, couple days old and couple weeks old. Maddie had a blast! She LOVES animals and she LOVES being outside...so double bonus parent points for us! After the farm tour, we went into one of the farm buildings for story time and snack time, the feature book was one called "The Easter Egg Farm". THEN, if snack and stories weren't enough, we then did some crafts, including coloring eggs! It was fun, you should ask Daddy for his thoughts on it though *grin*

The rest of that weekend was spent working on taking parts of the darn tree down from our front yard. It vexes me...
