Maddie came prepared with her fuzzy blanket, camera and wolfie packed away in her backpack. Letting her pick things to pack in her backpack for our trips really does help with the travel.
The weekend was set to be beautiful (no rain!)... Ron had to do some work, so Maddie and I spent Saturday morning planting beach grass, then we retired to the room for a nap (yes, both of us), and finally got in a little swim at the pool before Ron returned back to the hotel.
Unfortunately, even though it was bright blue sky and sunny...the wind was whipping around quite a bit while we were doing the beach grass planting. This is Maddie in 4 layers of clothes and poor thing as still cold! We spent alot of time sheltered from the wind.
Ron, being the brilliant guy that he is...did his work and on Sunday we all hit the boardwalk (and rides at Trimpers - which were closed) for Maddie to have some fun. Note to self: I know that I've made this note before, but it is better to not say exactly what we plan on doing when we're not for certain that what we plan will actually take place, such as rides being closed until April 4th. Unfortunately Miss Betsy and family had other plans on Sunday and couldn't join us this time...maybe in May =)

So, instead of letting Maddie go on rides, we spent some time on the beach playing in the sand making "sand castles" also known as "piles of sand" and people watching (let me ask...who eats soft ice cream when you need winter coats on....wait, WHY were ALL of the ice cream stands open when everyone needs winter coats on *boggle*). Once we had our fill of the beach (not really, but it makes for a nice transistion to what we did next) and since Maddie is officially out growing her clothes...we hopped into the car and went shopping at some outlets on our way back home.
All in all it was a good weekend - Thanks Betsy!
